Preseason football is here, and that means our first look at Fernando Mendoza and more of the top first-round picks.

We wrote about Mendoza and many of the top rookies worth watching during the preseason today. I think there aren’t any high-end prospects other than Mendoza at quarterback in the class; the receivers and Jeremiah Love can carry the class.

Last year, people went nuts for a limited sample size of Jaxson Dart that wasn’t overly impressive for the simple reason that he was a quarterback. There are some high-end receiver prospects this year, including Carnell Tate and Jordyn Tyson, and some solid second-tier guys as well.

Will they carry the same premium as a Dart, or even as Shedeur Sanders did last year? Likely no. However, collectively, they can provide a wide array of chase options, especially with how well they have been at training camp.

Carnell Tate, Jordyn Tyson, Makai Lemon, Denzel Boston, KC Concepcion, De’Zhaun Stribling, and Ja’Kobi Lane have been standouts so far in training camp. As we’ve seen with baseball, pitchers have become more desirable; maybe this is the type of quarterback class that makes receivers more desirable?
